Vietnam in August, any recommendations?

Hi! I have a couple of questions. I'll be going to Vietnam in August and I was wondering if you can recommend other places (aside from what was posted in Pinay Traveller). Also, what's the weather like in August? Is it okay to wear shorts? Thanks in advance for your tips!
